Welcome to our portfolio!
We're excited to introduce our newest portfolio company.
Sometimes the most exciting technology is found in places you wouldn't think of first. In this case: in the trash.
Together with High-Tech Gründerfonds, we've led the EUR 4.3M Seed round of Jaipur Robotics, and honestly, we're pretty thrilled about it.
The background: There are over 3,100 Waste-to-Energy plants worldwide, in a market worth around EUR 40 billion. Most of them still run on manual monitoring and analogue processes. This leads to unplanned shutdowns, safety risks, inefficient combustion, and wasted potential. In an industry that plays a central role in a more sustainable energy and waste economy, that's an enormous blind spot.
This is exactly where Ermes, Nikhil, and their team from Lugano come in. Their system uses computer vision and automation to turn something as messy as waste into clear, actionable insights, in real time and directly within live plant operations.
And it works. Jaipur is already delivering measurable results at customer sites:
Over 80% fewer unplanned shutdowns thanks to real-time hazard detection
More than EUR 1M in added value per plant, per year through optimised waste mixing
99% accuracy in detecting hazardous materials, backed by the largest European WtE dataset with over 50 million labelled images
"We envision a future where data from waste fully drives safety and automation. This round enables us to rethink entire plant operations."
But what convinced us wasn't just the technology, it was the team behind it, with a rare mix of mechanical engineering, deep learning, and real experience in industrial deployment. It's exactly this closeness to the customer that will carry them far. With the fresh capital, Jaipur will now expand into new regions, deepen the product, and grow the team across AI, engineering, and commercial roles.
We're delighted to be part of this journey, and curious to see where it leads.
